I have known Dom since 2006 when I became Course Manager at Ealing Golf Club. To start with Dom was a greenkeeper but very quickly I could see that he had a mechanical mind and he took an interest in the machinery fleet at Ealing GC. After his first appraisal he mentioned that he liked mechanics and expressed an interest in doing some mechanical work for the club.
Once he had his NPTC mechanics qualification from Writtle College which he passed with distinction, Dom undertook all the machinery duties at Ealing GC. His responsibilities grew and he serviced a fleet worth around £400k to an excellent standard. Dom has an excellent mind for mechanics and is very good at problem solving. During his 12 years at Ealing he serviced the fleet to a first class standard and saved the club a lot of money in machinery fees.
It is great to see Dom branch out on his own and start up his own business. Keeping machines in good working order with sharp blades is crucial for golf clubs to produce top playing qualities. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dom to service machines at other golf clubs. The service that he will provide and quality of work will be hard to beat.

I first met Dom when we worked together during my years as an apprentice at Ealing Golf Club nearly 10 years ago. Since then we have worked on various different projects at other clubs I have worked at, and I’ve always admired the amount of knowledge he has on such a wide range of mechanical topics.
On becoming a course manager at Orida Golf, one thing I knew I had to try and get right from the start was the fleet of machinery and the workshop area. The fact that he can arrive on a scheduled day and repair and grind our cutting units there and then, means that we are able to focus our time on managing the golf course, safe in the knowledge that they are going to be back on the machine ready to go for the following day.
We have improved a lot over the past two years, but since Dom has come on board, the attention to detail and cost saving advice that he gives have become an essential part of a continued progression within the group.
